Okay, 2nd time now I see the actual hummingbird. BTW the White-lined Sphinx..RARE? Here in Whittier, Calif. I see them resting on places like 99 cent stores and such (saw one resting aside a Roundtable Pizza in Pico Revera.:))

You will get more of them if you plant Evening Primrose which is their host plant and their favorite necter plant is Moon flower.

White lined Sphinx? Thank you for the information. I saw one of those in Cranbrook Park, in Michigan and it was by far the most interesting/beautiful insect I have ever seen. That's why I liked this video so much, it reminds me of how beautiful that experience was...Thank you!

I just saw one of these, the sun is going down, it is much bigger then the other hummingbird moths I usually see.

Hey, I just thought I'd notify you that your hummingbird moth is not a hummingbird moth, but the somewhat rarer, White lined Sphinx, that flies both at day and night.
