Fuck fighter pilots, just try to land with one of those in crosswind and 150 people onboard, 20 times heavier then some F16 shit, Thats what call flying...

There is this thing called "ground effect" when you get close to the ground. This means the aircraft tends to sit on a cushion of air when you're just a couple of feet above the runway. As soon as I feel this thing, I usually take advantage of it to turn the aircraft parallel to the runway then immediately forcing it to tough the ground. I fly a tiny Cesna. I don't know how these guys timed it with those huge birds. They're awsome!

It's the crosswind. You move the nose of the aircraft against the wind direction enough so the it's vector is parallel to the runway.

The aircraft won't flip, but you won't fly at the runway. That's why the planes are sideways, so they go at the runway. |
