we had so many hummers at one time they would deplete all of my feeders by Noon and I would have to refill the things 2 to 3 times a day!

Holy freakin' crap! He must have at least 20 feeders, and three times as many hummers! Damn, I wish I lived in Arizona!

Honey's a no-no. It can lead to the development of a fungus on the bird's tongue, causing it to swell, and then it starves to death. This wasn't known for many years--books even as recent as the 50's sometimes suggested the use of honey. A mix of 4:1 water:sugar using ordinary table sugar is chemically a very close match to the nectar in their favorite flowers...

Jesse had so many feeders that he chose to add a trace of colored dye to each feeder, depending on the day of the week. Yellow, for example, might mean Tuesday, and red might mean Wednesday. That way he didn't let any of the feeders get too old before getting changed.

I get ads for the new "Robinhood" series. Damn! just when Youtube is beginning to compete with tv for entertainment viewing, the commercials come.
