Wow it really seems like your having trouble with your ENGLISH pronunciations. If your going to make a song about speaking ENGLISH, please make sure you can! Man I hate dumb rednecks. And to be clear I am from the south, but man there are some idiots down here!

Yeah English is the Language of your Land of USA!Canadian who love this song and think English is the language of there land are wrong. Ici on parle Français, American Loyalist and British speak English! Vive le Québec Libre!

also Learning a language after the teenage years is very difficult, and even at a young age takes time. Every immigrant I've known has worked hard to do this and many feel embarrassed by their lack of good english and are very conscious. We need to be patient with people and, you are right, it is a safety issue, so we need to set up public programs to help them learn. Higher wages so they have the time and energy to learn, and better policies so they don't have to fear the police and government

I once played with a mariachi band at 4 in the morning outside of a meat packing plant to energize the workers to vote yes for a union and I will never forget watching these people walk past. They have very difficult jobs, families to support, and only came to here out of desperation. Instead of welcoming them with warmth and care, we cut school funding, write songs like this and raid their communities. These aren't people milking the system, they are trying to survive in a very harsh world.

First of all, every German I've known speaks excellent English. I'm just saying that we have a very narrow view of the world, that America is the best country, and that our occupancy of it should be unquestioned. If you look at American history, it is founded on marginalization, abuse, and violence. Attitudes portrayed in this song reflect a narrow viewpoint that is not inclusive of the beauty of other cultures and languages.

histerics3-Exactly what was it about ExSoldier556's remark that you found not Christian? If you're going to drag religion into the equation & be judgmental (btw I'm pretty sure the Bible says we should not judge others) please be clear about what part of religion you are referring to. His comment was no more hostile than yours and he is allowed his opinion just like you are allowed yours. Perhaps you should speak to 911 operators, teachers, EMT's etc. to get a clear perspective on this issue.

histerics3-exactly who is refusing to let Mexicans in LEGALLY. There is nothing bigoted about this song. They are simply asking those who choose to come to this country to speak English. What is so bigoted about that? If you moved to Germany would you expect everyone to run out and learn English to accommodate you (because they don't all speak English) or would you attempt to learn German? We cannot learn the lang. of every nationality that comes here. It is easier for them to learn one.
