Design is not the problem. It would take care of itself if there was no way to profit from mere ownership of land which is the entire incentive for land speculation, all urban sprawl and all city design to accommodate the land owner's right to collect community created land values all of which is an unearned income to them. Taxing community created land values heavily as first suggested over a century ago would have ended sprawl and would have resulted in better designed and very compact cities.

We watched this video at the first meeting of San Diego City Repair -- sdcityrepair dot blogspot dot com. We intend to help more people make these things happen in their own neighborhoods--and we also seek help in transforming our own neighborhoods!
