Simon and Jon, puppeteers of cute (but gay) Rod, and silly Nicky, left Avenue Q? Aw man...I hope the new Rod has that deliciously rocking voice and that the new Nicky is still the silly one.If they replaced the puppeteer of Princeton, oh DAMN! The old Avenue Q's Princeton was much cuter!

Considered as themselves, the new cast are as good as any other Avenue Q cast, but when you try comparing them to the OLC, it's just not the same.The original Avenue Q London cast was pitch perfect and injected some real heart into the show. I miss it!

welshygems, if you're talking about Chris Thatcher, indeed he is absurdly good an understudy for Nicky/Trekkie. He occasionally plays Princeton and Rod as well, though I've never seen that myself. He's at least 10 times better than the regular actor who plays Nicky, though. The new cast really is disappointing, though comparing anyone to Jon Robyns and Julie Atherton (especially) is a bit unfair, I suppose

I saw the show yesterday in London where one of the main cast was played by one of the understudies....they and the show was fantastic!!!

i just saw the show in tampa, the new ones are still great, if not better in nikkys case. Rod is now played by the guy who does princton, and is good.
