What round are you having trouble with? The granny square may take on a round appearance in the very beginning but it should start to square off in the later rounds. Each corner should have 2 double crochet, chain 2, 2 double crochet which is what makes the corners square.

I love your videos and have already tried afew projects successfully. Somehow the granny square always seemed a challenge to me but I FINALLY got it after watching this video...thank you! I have already 16 from scraps of wool from other projects and am going to make a warm balnket for my two little dogs. I want to add a conrasting single crochet border to each square before I sew them all together. :)

I have been crocheting for over 25 years so I have had a lot of practice. Yours will be accurate after some practice. Just keep at it.
