I only knew this song from Olivia Newton-John's "Physical" album. I didn't know she got the song from her "Suddenly" duet partner. Both versions are great because they're so different from each other.

This shows how far ahead of its time this "environmental protest" song was. Written by Hank Marvin, the definitive version can be heard on the eponymous "Marvin Welch and Farrar" album. Read "Silent Fields" by Roger Lovegrove and it shows what Hank has written is becoming true sad to say. Thanks for posting.
