I'd buy it, 200mpc is great for a day of joy riding or going to work. Come home stick in the charging unit and bam another 200 miles ready in less then 4 hours. Great car I hope this will be a huge success!

Astronomical cost of gas? LOL! You think that their fuel usage would exceed $21,000! The fact is there is no gas shortage as some would want you to believe, the Arab Sheiks control the production of it and sells it on a global market, to the highest bidder as world's economy increases especially in China and India, the bid gets higher and therefore we pay more. We send them over 750 billion a year, money that could stay here, imagine what that would to for us...Don't be fooled!

i never said that oil wasn't useful. i'm well aware of just how many petroleum products are in use today. even if all vehicles were electric, petroleum would still go into the construction of the vehicle. yes, there are lots of families who can't afford $21,000 for a car, but those same families can't afford the astronomical cost of gas either. Not only that, insurance on electric cars is cheaper and they require hardly the same kind of repairs as a gas-powered vehicle.

We would still need oil......Electric cars are not an answer .....only an option for some...even $21,000 can not be afforded by a lot of low income households that rely on their reliable gas cars....Semi's hauling large freight cross country will still need to run diesel Also' you need to take in consideration of all petroleum by products that we use in our daily lives..Electric and Gasoline should be a freedom of preference, not the only option...We need to support offshore drilling!

as they increase production, they will be able to bring the cost of their cars down. it's like that with any technology though. the batteries will become better and cheaper to construct as the years go by. and keep in mind that this supposed to be a sports car model. there are already electric car companies out there like zenn motors who are producing fully loaded cars for around 21,000 dollars.

Looks like a Lotus Elise chassis?

Exactly, we'll still need to drill for oil for various other products. Therefore, since oil will still be needed, it won't hurt our oh sooooo needy oil companies to produce electric cars by the hundreds of thousands. I'm glad we cleared that up!

I don't want a cheaper car I want my car! This is America, don't you think we should have a choice?
TallFlaGuy4UTube (September 1, 2008 at 2:27 pm)
and of coarse you have never have "ridden" in an automobile or taken a bus or taken a plane......Don't play that I don't use oil bs....We all do! You do wear shoes don't ya'? Soles made from petroleum, ever use an insecticide, solvents, paint? I know you use a keyboard and a mouse both made by petroleum by product...You see tommy we will always need oil, even the tesla has petroleum products, the dash, carbon fiber, tires are made of 8qts of oil ect ect...Drill Now for a better America!

If Tesla invented alternating current as said in this video, then why does George Westinghouse get all the common credit? I'm just asking because I don't know.
