Who cares about religion? What matters is that people are getting hurt. I feel she is telling the truth, but if not, that's ok. A book a woman wrote about the Guatemalan civil war was later proved that there were events that didn't happen to her or her family. But it was happening to people out there and she brought the world's attention to it. Whether it's true or not, Carolyn is helping by bringing awareness. It takes real guts to go against something you've been taught your whole life Go her.

Surely its every womans inate right to choose the father of her children.These women get no choice.There are all these half siblings in one community and cousins marrying each other.Just because a man is capable of fathering hundreds of children doesnt mean he should.Eventually the whole community will be blood related and inbreeding will be a huge problem

What a inspiring, courageous woman. I cannot even begin to imagine what she was feeling the night she escaped but i commend her for doing it. cant wait to read the book.

I am very glad to see an interview with Carolyn Jessop posted on here! I received her book last Christmas, and I think I finished reading it in a couple of days since I didn't want to put it down. It's amazing, the courage she had to save her children at the risk of her own freedom. You'll understand how free you truly are after you read this. Religious freedom is our right, but we cannot go on letting these "communities" off scot-free. Your nearly every move dictated by others isn't freedom...

Carlyn is an amazing women. She has overcome all the brainwashing and has managed to have the courage to escape with all her children. I am in awe of this womens strength. I have read her book and cannot commend her enough. |
