If all he did in his music was harmonics then I would agree, but when he uses them musically, they are fine. It's like any other technique. It's all about the proper use of them in context. Picking a single note is a technique and without adding other techniques that gets boring too. Hence phrasing, nuance, bending, staccato, and myriad other techniques serve to make things interesting! :)

this was a fun little jamming session. They often turn out like that.He does play a song, all the fucking time. Besides, he's long past guitar conventions.Not mainstream no, but his fame isn't false. He's got solid fans, that stay with him - therefore a stable career.

you could say that with almost every guitarist, like: OMG malmsteen's using harmonic minor again, OMG gambale's sweeping again, OMG dimebag's squealing again, OMG dragonforce can't play their solos.. still and so on and so on. this is just his style,you can get tired of it, but most of guitarist use the same tricks during their entire career, so don't bash him ;]

No. He never uses pedals.He uses them for playing with practice amps, that is for distortion.Normally it's just his guitar directly into his laney
