No, If you could read you would know that it's based upon the old comic-book series by Will-Eisner. It says it right in the beginning of the trailer.

Point made-- I woulda liked this movie to be stylized more like the actual Spirit comics too -- not after Frank Miller's Sin City film noir look.

ahhh see now i did not know all of that, but now that you mention it, what you say makes sensebut to be honest i prefer the original comic as opposed to the Sin-City style coloring

Eh, hit limit. Anyway-- whenever black could be put in it at all it was really a dark blue then too... it's interesting to look up. You'd think black inks would be super cheap for production but they're not unless everything's gonna be B&W. For color prints, black is comprised of the other colors-- waste of inks-- money. Print out enough black stuff from a printer and all the cyan, magenta, and yellow run out quick...

They used blue ink back in the day because black ink was very difficult to work with when in printing comics. A lot of super hero character's costumes that were actually black were highlighted with blue to dark blue most of the time (e.g. Batman) because it was easier. Blue is often used as a highlight for black even now (e.g. Venom). But I'm not saying that Frank Miller didn't take liberties-- he probably has but we've all yet to see how the movie goes.

it wasnt like this in the comics, in fact he wore a blue outfit in the comics, not a black one with a red tiei think he just decided to take some liberties to make it look good, liberties that faithfuls might not appreciate |
