Being but a mere butler, you will not know the great theatre tradition, that one does never speak the name, of the scottish play.

I just watched this video in english class, this scene and the scene where Macbeth gets his head sliced off by Macduff are the best ones.Polanski did a great job, my english teacher pointed out motifs throughout the film, like when Macbeth drops the goblet and it spins in this scene is a parallel to when he kills Duncan and his crown spins when it hits the floor.Very good movie.

yeahhh.. really good. i'm not sure about the end though - the shot of the morning after. but i still think polanski's adaption was very successful cos he made the play into cinema well =]

What I think is great about this movie, is that the actors really live their characters, and the story seems real. Like the changes of scene between lines, and walking while speaking and stuff. It makes it much more entertaining. In most other shakespeare adoptions they sort of just recite their lines, but here it's like the characters are actually having a conversation.
