No one is making light of this, so just chill out and enjoy the music.

I wasn't making light of the tragedy. My comment(s) were part of an exchange meant in good humor. No disrespect was intended. That said, I think it would serve you well to lighten up. Life is full of tragedy and unless you develop a sense of humor you're going to find it difficult to get through. Just remember, none of us are getting out of this alive!

There's no way this song is an hour and twenty minutes long - it's 1:15 tops (too funny). Anyway I had the privilege of sailing over the wreck back in the early 90's when I was in the Navy and we blasted this song over our speakers - it was pretty cool. RIP.

It is in poor taste for you to make light of the tragic deaths of these brave men.

This is one of the most awesome tributes I have ever EVER seen. Awesome, sir. Just awesome. The families of the crew must be so proud of this.

Yes and that wasn't the end of the story. The crewmen who died because of the song later filed a class action suit against Gordon Lightfoot's management company Titanic Inc. based on the fact that even though the song was an hour and twenty minutes long it didn't mention each of them by name. The suit was later settled out of court with one of the provisions being that neither Lightfoot nor his manager can ever come withing 500 yards of an ore carrying barge again.

Great job on the movie. The ship used to pass by my grandparents summer home on Harsen's Island and salute us with it's fog horn. I remember seeing it pass by as a little girl. |
