Feeding a lionfish that has lockjaw due to improper diet (100% krill). Force feeding a proper diet (frozen squid, mysis shrimp, selcon) can cure this.

It developed lockjaw as a result of an improper diet. It took maybe a week for the lockjaw to go away, and we began feeding it a more correct diet from then on and it appears to be doing quite well.

How does a lionfish get lockjaw? Is it a permanent condition? Do they recover or is there medication in the food mix? I have never heard of such a thing.
