"born into a place where the masses elevate fools into rich hereos." Yes that is brilliant. If you see me writing "Bon Jovi sucks" on a YouTube video, you know why.

"born into a place where the masses elevate fools into rich hereos." Brilliant.reminds me of "hollywood," my favorite of his novels. FUCK TAB JONES!

This is an amazing poem. Bukowski's writing is so raw and full of emotion.

Agreed, but the best music and lit to me has a hacked sort of feel to it. Too polished and it turns me off. Everyone is different, cliche's will always be around, finding new ways to talk about the same old boring shit we see/do everyday...is also cliche. God i hate that word. Cheers.

I think the reason I began to appreciate Bukowski in the first place was because his poetry didn't /try/ to be obscure. But the topic, of how life can be, or how he sees it; why is that a cliche? Is talking about love cliche? Or death? I don't think there's anything I can talk about, then, that's not cliche. Maybe cockroaches or Baltimore or something. But I'm sure the poet laureate of Maryland would have something to say. |
