"They may have no emotions but we have empathy so we feel sorry for that moth."The reason you feel sorry for the moth is because you humanize the moth and think of it as if it were yourself. You cannot imagine what that moth is 'feeling', because you can only imagine what you would feel if you were in that situation. That is the limit of your empathy.About the soul thing, i'm not even going to touch that.

due to my human nature, I pretty much intstantly feel sorry for the bugs, but I'm starting to wonder why most humans(such as myself) pity these creatures. Though there are arguments on weather they feel pain or not, the question will prabably remain never awnsered. why? Because we aren't them and therefore, have no idea. Sure, science might provide an 'educated guess' based on data, but it would be a theory regardless. On another note,I'm happy that we are progressing in science. Very amazing.

if someone came along and stuck electrodes up your butt to make you dance wuld you like that ?i think everyones opinions with this is not the argument wether a moth has a soul or not but the fact that they are doing this to a living creaturethey might aswell sit there and pull the wings and legs off while they are at it and to the question if bugs feel pain?they most certainly do and its a proven fact that they do they are living creatures just like people are this is torture
