I too am off the grid, I built my own house and have pure solar power, satellite internet and a 510ft well. I chose to go with a septic system to save on the costs and now, this year, I'll be adding a breakfast nook and porch/deck to my place. I've read the comments about it taking this or that but it's my opinion, it only takes setting realistic goals and meeting those goals. Congratulations!

there are a shitload of governments with no capital gains tax, so i'm sure there are some without property taxes.
