I wonder if that big house sitting in the sub-urbs with no self-reliability, and cut off from major food/energy sources at the flick of a switch from some often unknown corporation. I wonder if that will survive through these upcoming years of change.

Labor is not free. If you want a house like this...build it. The only way I'd do this at all is to design/build it myself, as this is artistic expression as well as shelter. If you're lazy and uncreative, then you'll have to pay up. dboy

i have seen in a couple of these homes advertised in an architectual magz...very interesting. but, like everything else in this greedy country, gotta have alot of money to "go green"

I doubt it would survive a meteor strike. Perhaps we need to build earth ships that can carry us out into space a safe distance from asteroidal impacts.
