Date: June 26, 1988Time: 14:45Location: Habsheim, FranceOperator: Air FranceFlight number: 296QRoute: Basel - BaselAC type: Airbus A320-111Aboard: 136 (passengers: 130, crew:6)Fatalities: 3 (passengers: 3, crew:0)Summary: The plane was scheduled to perform a series of fly-bys at an air show. The plane was to descend to 100 ft. altitude with landing gear and flaps extended. The automatic go-around protection was inhibited for the maneuver. During the maneuver, the plane descended thru 100 ft. to an altitude of 30 feet and hit trees at the end of the runway. The aircraft was totally destroyed by the successive impacts and violent fire which followed. The pilot allowed the aircraft to descend through 100 ft. at slow speed and maximum angle of attack and was late in applying go-around power. Unfamiliarity of the crew with the landing field and lack of planning for the flyby.Source: http://www.planecrashinfo.com/...

oakey- i just researched the a380 landing at the farnborouh airshow and it DID NOT HAVE PASSENGERS ABOARD. its labeled as a showcase flight*again im looking for a manned plane landing at an airshow

This plane did infact have a pilot, he was responsible for the deaths of 3 people, the flight data recorder was confisgated, however there are reports that the pilot was distracted from his flying duties when his co-pilot talked about Marco Van Basen's wonder goal in the European cup final the previous night. This momentary lapse in concentration caused the stupid bugger to crash into a forest.

nh6- i believe its a minimum of 2000 hours a pilot must have in order to fly a commercial plane of that sizei think by then a pilot would be aware that the plane belongs in the sky and not in a forest. also i highly doubt air france would hire a mentally retarded pilot, 2000 hours or not*just more proof backing the fact this plane was unmanned nh6

Joe i found a clip on youtube yesterday featuring an A380 at an airshow, here is the linkv=xXSx7PqgLAo

I think Billers got a good point here, Joe. Two pilots seems about right and marbito's postulation that one or both may be retarded seems, also, plausible given that they flew the fucking thing straight into a forest.Thoughts?
