Im sorry it took me so long to reply Ive been having some you tube comment problems. All I have to say in response to your comment is the Hebrews in Egypt and the christens in Greek and roman times. Both races were in slaved for well over 600 years and both experienced racism for hundreds of years after.

wow. what is sad about this video is that you could have read it in a U.S.A history book that you can pick up at your local public school.

funny, michael moore forgot the part about the U.S. using guns to free europe from perhaps the most evil man in the history of the world during world war II. or using guns to end slavery

Correct.

Lincoln did not propose federal laws against slavery where it already existed, but he had, in his 1858 House Divided Speech, expressed a desire to "arrest the further spread of it, and place it where the public mind shall rest in the belief that it is in the course of ultimate extinction".

Well, you're BOTH sorta wrong here.First post about Lincoln knowing slavery was wrong is right. The Republican party was formed around an anti-slavery platform. But Lincoln was also believed to be fairly racist. No one can claim they know what Lincoln believed, but there is evidence for these views.Second is right, but off topic. Lincoln was against slavery, and the slavery conflict was the cause of the Civil War, but Lincoln fought the war to preserve the union, not to free slaves.

Okay, true enough. Slavery continues to exist even to this day (contrary to what most people think). But to claim some people (presumably other races was meant) were in slavery longer than black people is absurd. There is no historical basis for such a claim.America was a special case though. No where else in the world was race and slavery tied so closely as in America. When most people think of slavery, they also think of racism, which was particularly true in America.

I would just like to point out that slavery was in America before the American Revolution. Not only that but slavery is one of the oldest trades in the world it was around before white people thought about it. People act like the only slavery that happened was with black people. The truth is that every major race or religion has been the victim of slavery long before America even existed and most were enslaved longer than black people.

Also I would like every one to know that the childish myth of white people going over to Africa and kidnapping black people and forcing them into slavery is retarded. How do you think people became slaves? When one tribe conquers another tribe the conquered tribes become dead or slaves. So then black people sold black people into slavery.
