Tenor giants John Coltrane and Stan Getz lead an incredible group through a tune claimed by both Thelonius Monk (Hackensack) and Coleman Hawkins (Rifftide). Oscar Peterson sits in on piano with the incomparable rhythm section of Paul Chambers (bass) and Jimmy Cobb (drums).

wow- Getz and Trane had very different sounds and styles but they could certainly sound great playing together, couldn't they? This was great to see/ hear. It seemed like Getz loosened up after Trane's solo and this was the most creative I ever heard him play. This must be about 30 year old video. Great piano solo too, by ?

This is so great. Not one, but two fly sax men.

bisognerebbe farlo ascoltare, per esempio, a quelli che ascoltano solo l'hard rock

My musical knowledge is fairly limited and does not extend to jazz but I know good music. Music appreciation holds no relevance to music knowledge. My mum grew me up on Getz and Coltrane and Davis and for that I am truly grateful. It doesn't get much better than this. Thank you for sharing this love.
