That is absolutely amazing. I didn't know that what you did here was even possible.

russlouky, I must say I admire this privilege that you have and at the same time envy you to a certain extent. I live in the Caribbean and have been able to attract only 4 species to my 2 and sometimes 3 feeders. NEVER have I gotten a chance to feed any from my hands. You are certainly inspiring me to give it a try though. :) Thanks for sharing this awesome composition.

It is their natural instinct to be afraid of people. After hours of seeing me video taping, photographing, putting out feeders with fresh food and enjoying all the plants I have for them, they decide "that old man is not going to harm us" LOLSo far this summer none of them have made that decision and I await the newborns because they are not afraid of anything. All Hummingbirds are braver during southern migration because their instinct tells them to fill up every chance they get.

wow! I wish I had one hummer and you have dozens! They certainly dont seem afraid of you. Are they as trusting as they appear, or is it that they know you and are comfortable around you?

Thanks very much. I just saw my first ruby-throat of the season here in New Hampshire a few minutes ago and had to bring up this video. Thanks for putting it on.

Hi, I wish it were that easy to get Hummingbirds. If you have clean feeders with fresh sugar water (4 parts water & 1 part sugar), flowers they like (Salvias, Sages, Lantanas, Cypress Vine, Cardinal Climber Vine, Rose of Sharon trees and lots of others, they will come to your yard. Numbers are low at this time of the year, but will increase in July (new babies are born) and August during Southern migration. Check my website for more information, photos, videos etc.e-hummingbirds(dot)com

I have put up a hummingbird feeder. I haven't seen one yet. I was wondering if I was doing something wrong?
