The only "ideas" that were had were those of PARC. Apple nor Microsoft did anything 'inspired'. Both borrowed and borrowed heavily. Your language is mere word-play.

In my mind, there is a difference between being inspired by something (Apple-Xerox) and totally ripping off ideas (Microsoft-Apple).
