We have an extremely territorial female ruby-throated hummingbird that will sit by our feeder, at several times throughout the day. She preens and scratches a lot, and chases all the other hummers away from the feeder. It's amusing to watch, when she zooms off after one hummer, another one swoops in to grab a drink before she comes back.

WOW. I'm jealous. I've never seen more than 3 hummers in my backyard at once.

saw your post on the video. I had 1 hummer show up at the end of May. She came to an old feeder that the landlord had. I was patient, now I have at least 20. I love to spend time with them. Different markings, different personalities and lots of fun. Good luck.

They are all filled with sugar water. 1 part sugar to 4 parts water...

Are some of those feeders filled with water instead of a nectar solution? Just wondering. |
