Sorry to hear about Ira Tucker. Igot the chance to meet the Hummingbirds in Boston and you couldn't have met any group like that. I talked with them and it was like we were friends for years.Nicest people i have ever met.I met a lot of groups and they were they were so nasty.May God bless the Tucker/and all the Hummingbirds family.

Man Howard is gettin it on that guitar. I had the pleasure of speaking to Howard over the phone when I was 15 years old. He's one of the nicest people. I hope to meet him soon.

I finally understand what this song is saying! What a performance!I miss this gentleman so much! They were the best that ever did gospel music in my eyes! This is a sad day!WNJR in Newark, NJ has been playing their songs all day. I was a young girl when this group was in their glory, my uncle use to play this song and pick that guitar. I'm grateful for men like Ira Tucker. I can still see my aunt's hat going one way and she the other when they sang Lets Go Out To The Programs. Well the whole group is together again.

Rest In Peace Mr. Ira Tucker. You, along with James Walker, James Davis, Howard Carroll, Beachy Thompson, Willie Bobo, and Paul Owens gave us some of the greatest gospel music we've ever heard. Mr. Tucker sang lead with The Dixie Hummingbirds for 70 years, and for each year Mr. Tucker was a force of nature. Surely we will miss Ira Tucker but we can be assured that he is safely resting in the arms of Jesus now. My prayers go out to The Tucker family.T.L. Harris

In Jesus'name grace and peace to all. I received word this morning and confirmation that my big brother in Christ, greatest quartet lead singer of all times, Ira Tucker departed this life this morning. May his soul rest in the Lord. I am sorrowing beyond comprehension, but not as those who have no hope. Please pray for the Tucker family.
