You can get Mysterious Cities of Gold on DVD in the U.K. I saw it in HMV the other day.

Wow...I was born in 1982 and remember watching this on UK TV as a kid. Like others I remember it being on what seemed like really early in the mornings...like 6am? Was on Saturdays from memory.People are right, the storyline is quite dark and complicated for a kids show! I always remember being quited scared of the frozen bodies floating...

Although I grew up watching a lot of awesome 80's cartoons, the ones I always remember most fondly was this, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Robotech, Astro Boy and Star Blazers. ALL these shows still hold up today when I watch them... I honestly agree with posters who say how sad it is that kids don't have shows like Ulysses 31 today. Amazing art style, haunting stories, wonderful music... a true gem!

Probably my favourite childhood cartoon. Brilliant artwork, theme tune, and the storyline captured my imagination at the time. 80's kids had the best times I reckon.

That song should have been released as a single...it would have stormed the charts in 1986

ok guys, I always thought this would make a FANTASTIC FILM or live-action mini-series. Imagine this with the effects of Battlestar Galactica. I also through Kris Kristofferson would make a brilliant Ulysses! Think of him as Whistler in Blade... Ulysses yes? |
