I think it isa sad that Grable fans knock Alice - they were both good friends in real life and they had different talents - alice was a better singer and Betty was a better dancer - what is the problem - they did not have one with one another so get a life.G

Betty Grable was no singer. And the only reason she got her break was because Alice became pregnant before a scheduled picture. When Alice Faye stalked out of 20th Century Fox for being humiliated by an horrendous editing job on her last film, something no other actress in Hollywood ever did before or since...they had no one else but Grable. Nice, sweet & popular but no Alice Faye. She had sex appeal something Grable lacked.

Alice Faye has always been one of my favorites -- she's so lovely and sings beautifully.

This song was written before the first world war and performed by many stars of stage and screen - Doris sang it 10 years after Hello Frisco Hello with Gordon Macrae in a film of the same name. |
