This video is especially for ickycan, who's been asking for more videos of our cottage. I spent basically two years building it. Fortunately, we took photos almost every step of the way, so I'm able to document it for you. If you're thinking of putting up a cordwood building, be forewarned - it's a LOT of work !!!The background music during the video is from my first album, Medieval Cottage Songs - which I actually recorded at the cottage. How cool is that? The first composition is Meditation; the second is Play With Me; the third is Good Bye. I hope you enjoy them.Compositions from all three of my albums can be purchased through CDBaby.com and most on-line downloading services (iTunes, Napster, Weed, etc.) Also, the guitars I use were all made by myself.

I got the wood from a local cedar post supplier. The logs were 8' long, de-barked and very dry. Probably a couple of years after cutting. Construction $20,000.

It's a lot of work, but well worth the effort!

Use clear silicone caulking; run the silicone around the inside of the mouth of the jar, then lower the jar over the bottle neck until it makes contact with the body of the bottle. Leave them standing for a day or so until the silicone dries.
