Do you have any pictures on your website that are not stills from this video of an Anna's Hummingbird? Is there a website other than the Earthlink one you attached to the NBB posting with other pictures?Steve

Thanks Steve. That's why I posted the vid, to get comments. To my eye, his beak looks longer and more curved than the Annas who come to my feeder. You can see this on my web pages and the still image I posted there. About the color, all I can say is that my camera doesn't get color right to begin with, and there are all the other variables of light that come into play, including what our monitors do with it. One person who saw this video reported seeing orange!Thanks again,Karen Jo

This looks more like an Anna's Hummingbird than a Black-chinned. Black-chinned Hummingbirds are very slender with a noticeably skinny neck and longer and more curved bill than this bird shows. They also tend to pump their tails more frequently than Anna's.It also appears that the gorget on this bird is pinkish as would be expected on Anna's and not purplish as would be expected on Black-chinned.Steve Bauer |
