Back then, I was just a freshman in high school, and there were many protests against the Vietnam war going on in many campuses and places. The shooting at Kent State was a shock and peeved off many folks, both pro and anti Vietnam war. Back then, 18 year olds didn't have the right to vote, but were put in the draft and sent to war. Nowadays it is so different, 18 year olds can vote, get sent to war, but not allowed to drink, what gives.

Violence is not the answer! An eye for an eye only leaves the whole world blind. There were eight Amish girls killed and then the murder killed himself. The parents went to the family of the murderer and counseled them. The Amish are the only group with any sort of peace and The world needs to learn a lesson from them!

Again, let the truth be told. Agitators from outside came, threw rocks, bricks, etc. and burned things down. The guard soldiers got backed up against a wall, out-numbered, and a few got hit with bricks in the face. Someone opened fire. I still think they got what they deserved... It wasn't a "peaceful" demonstration. It makes me sick people look at them (the filthy, dead hippies)like heroes...It was the guard that was the heroes...
