Ginger Baker is the shit."A bad band with a good drummer is a good band. A really good band with a really good drummer is a Superband."

I've always admired and respected Ginger Baker as an influential drummer in the Rock world helping to bring drums to the foreground along with artists like John Bonham and Keith Moon. I think he has grown musically since the Cream years (and I was a big fan of Cream), but there is a far more intelligent musician behind the kit now. He is allowing his jazz roots to surface more. Check out his jazz CD "Falling off the Roof", it's good stuff. Keep rockin' Ginger!

I agree with you, but I want to point out that Moon had a giant drum set in his later years.

they're little rings that help for an extra sizzle when used as a crash, but are silent when the cymbal is played closer to the bell area. |
