Illustrating the building's sustainable geo-thermal cooling process. Air is drawn in at the top of the Bio-filtration atrium to maximise access to clean air and is then circulated downward through the Atrium, passing through specially selected plants, which filter the air. The air then flows under the building where the temperature of the filtered air is conditioned by a Thermal Labyrinth made up of a series of high thermal-mass rock baskets called Gabions. The air then flows throughout the different levels of the building. This process reduces the need for air-conditioning and heating and increases the quality of the air in the building via a natural process.

Ratio of building size to gabion area appears to be way off. If the ratios shown work, why are we not seeing these buildings pop up everywhere?

very nice, never went through my mind to use all basement external surfaces as heat exchangers...very smart!
