Il vibrato di polso di Menuhin è uno dei più belli dell'intera storia del violino.
crazy77town (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
considering the problem on the right shoulder after the WW2 he was ever the best, and not only a child prodigy!! what would he have done with a perfect right shoulder...you don't even imagine. just hear moto perpetuo and you will realise what am I talking about....

One might hazard that the other movements of this version don't show Menuhin at his best. The present adagio, however, is played like a passionate yet serene song. While much has been written about Menuhin as the child prodigy who lost his way, it is difficult to find anyone who can or could do this movement better.

What's all the fuss with Menuhin! A great child prodigy but not really with the greats as an adult. This is supposed to be a piece from the romantic era so quit your one-speed-fits-all nanny-goat wrist vibrato. Stern and Kennedy give it proper treatment.
