skater, the fact that you don't "think about that shit" doesn't mean other people shouldn't. For some people music is a way to escape from their daily lives, for others it is to reflect. I think that is the ultimate aim of art. And, as cachowvoo asked, the hostility is because of.....? My guess is perhaps envy. Or maybe music just doesn't do for you what it does to many of us.
