Just thought I'd mention that if you touch a bit of solder on the tip of the soldering iron before you put it on the connector it will help to conduct the heat better. Also, it's important to try and keep the cable as still as possible until the solder has solidified, otherwise you will get a dry joint. For those of you that don't know, a dry joint will be dull and greyish. A good solder joint will be shiny and silver.

i tried a 15w and it did not work too well. a 40w makes it a TON much easier.

Does it have to be 40W?? I see you are melting the solder through the gold connector. Does a 15W soldering iron have enough power to conduct the right amount of heat through the gold connector or do I have to do it from the inside?

You fill up the end with solder where the wire goes, not the end where the male fits in.

if you fill up the female connector with solder, how will the male fit in then?

This method works great! Thanks for putting this on here. Otherwise my ESC would be in pieces after I got mad enough at the previous attempts to get the bullet connectors to stick to the wires.

A good tip for getting the holes drilled to the right depth is to put some masking tape on the drill bit at the desired height, that way you don't drill too deep or too shallow (just stop when the tape gets to where you're drilling).

You should put solder on the object being soldered not the soldering iron |
