Well I'm from Canada and I've heard of IDM and we have it at our parties sometimes :) (as much as I can push for)IDM is so awesome because it's such a broad genre with so much room for free expression. It's not tied down by much. It can be hard and industrial sounding like breakcore or soft and lovely like downtempo IDM it's just so limitless :) It can have other instruments if it wants too, or vocals. I want to make vocal IDM if anyone is interested! I play nylon-string guitar too.
