This reads exactly like what it is. The frightened babbling of an ignorant, superstitious animal.

The Bible isn't just any book, It has a mass influence as other main religious books and is a tool to cultivating essentially what is called the "Spirit". Secondly to judge such books as if they were movies, as if truth has an entertainment value to it, Show signs of limitations of intellect. Professing the "Truth" is that which carry the whims of most carnal Christians, even Peter denied the Truth 3 times so don't mock Judas.

Well then it seems you will have to answer your own question. At what point did I mention knowing something you didn't?
uberjim83 (September 3, 2008 at 6:52 pm)
Also, I couldn't help but notice you didn't address my question. What misinformation do you feel is being spread, and what is it that you think everyone here doesn't know?
uberjim83 (September 3, 2008 at 6:49 pm)
If you emphasize some parts and forget about others, then you can use the Bible (or any book of sufficient length and variety) to support any idea you want. That doesn't mean that it's good, and it definitely doesn't make it true!

You could read the book cover to cover 100 times that doesnt mean you learned anything. Maybe you should read it a few more times and emphasize on the parts where it speaks of being humble with wisdom. Maybe at that point things will seem a little more clear.

Actually my friend I know a lot of the Bible, I grew up on the word, and fully understand its parables. You are just easily distracted by the sarcasm I cast out to those who like to point fingers. With a mentality such as yours it is easy to see why so much misinformation is spread like wild fire. Imposing your beliefs on others shows doubt and low confidence in your own faith.

Actually, Lavey died as he lived: affluent, immensely influential, and decidedly atheistic (Judaism is a theist religion, in case you somehow didn't know) though I understand he may have been born into a jewish family.I'm curious though, what alternative to these mindsets would you suggest? |
