End of University 1980 - graduation dinner. Black tie etc. I'd carried a huge torch for a girl since my freshman year. She turned up looking beautiful - but she had a cocky merchant banker on her arm and she was distinctly cool. I felt like a real loser and drove home at 2am along an empty highway at about 90mph. This was on the radio - that line 'down on my luck again' burnt deep.I never spoke to her again.

I am a pretty well-schooled musician, but what a weird song. Rhythmically it's a labyrinth. Mad to think that it was a single back in the day. I only watched it because this was the favourite song of my best friend in school, and I have never listened to it until now.

The Wall Movie released in 82 also had a huge influence during the 80's, please do not come back with "Adam and the ants or Wham!!!

The Wall was released in 79 and toured for a bit but the album had an influence in the 80's, THE WALL December 1979THE FINAL CUT April 1983.Many of the 14 Pink Floyd albums (including Lapse) regularly appear in the Greatest lists of all time. They represent a body of artistic work which captured the imagination of fans across the globe.Or are you suggesting we listen to an album just in the year it was released?
billabongodrum (October 4, 2008 at 5:46 pm)
a momentary lapse of reason? arguably floyd's worst ever album. i omit the final cut as that's roger solo album really... so where were the great floyd stuff made in the 80's?ps i love pink floyd to death and am trying to have a constructive discussion with you.
