You're probably a member of the Rational Response Squad. If you are, then I pity you all the more, just as I pity all other cultists and religious sheep. For the last time, atheism is not (I hope!) a religion, therefore it does not have a standpoint. Don't confuse it with ANTI-theism or anti-religion.

I am so sick of people stating opinions as facts. Just because you think it, does not make it true! You sound like a goddamn christian. Of course atheism is a uniting position. It demonstrates intelligence and rationality. It doesn't mean we have to join a cult, but it shows we have something strong in common.

There's no such thing as an "atheist position". Atheism is not about fighting religion, and in fact isn't "about" anything at all. It's merely a lack of something, a nothingness. It's not something that you can unite over. I don't have a third arm growing out of my gut, does that mean I'm going to build an organization off of that, dedicated to people who don't have third arms growing out of their guts? |
