Cornish dates back to about the same time as Welsh (but revived languages might not qualify as "oldest living"), Scots/Irish/Manx Gaelic would also be worthy contenders, as would Icelandic (though that's not actually European). Lordi are superb - and had real guts to take on Eurovision.

Welsh is probably be the oldest living in Europe, (despite what the Basques say). Gaulic doesn't exist. It died out centuries ago. English was slopped together in a couple of hundred years, It isn't phonetic has contradictory grammar rules and is often badly spelt. Welsh rules!P:S Lordi are great.
